During the 17th century, Sir Francis Bacon was the first to be credited with saying, "Knowledge is Power." He wrote in his Meditationes Sacrae, "ipsa scientia potestas est" (knowledge itself is power). In his view, knowledge can empower humans to understand and control nature.
Bacon was also a major advocate for modern scientific investigation. He criticized the traditional Aristotelian method of learning about the natural world and proposed a new approach to gathering information through systematic observation, experimentation, and inductive reasoning. His emphasis on accumulating data through empirical evidence led him to be called the father of modern science and empiricism.
In today's business environment, the term Knowledge is Power is often used to describe the power that a company holds through its internal resources and expertise. This power can help companies grow and compete effectively in a global economy. However, it's important to remember that this power is only effective if it is shared. When companies fail to share knowledge with other companies or employees, the results can be disastrous.
